The Treatment

What is Teenage Facial?

A shorter, gentler facial designed around teenage skin, which is usually oilier and more reactive than adult skin and does not need aggressive treatment. It covers a proper cleanse, gentle exfoliation, careful extraction where appropriate and a calming mask.

Just as importantly, it is a chance for a teenager to be shown how to look after their own skin without being lectured — what actually helps, what makes things worse, and why picking is the single biggest cause of marks that linger.

How It Works

What happens at your appointment

1

Skin analysis

Your therapist looks at your skin properly and adapts the treatment to what it needs on the day, rather than following a fixed routine.

2

The facial

Cleansing, exfoliation and treatment steps are carried out with products and intensity selected for your skin.

3

Finish & aftercare

Finishing products are applied and you are given simple aftercare advice to keep the results going.

Aftercare

  • Keep your routine gentle for a day or two.
  • Avoid strong actives, scrubs and acids as advised.
  • Use SPF daily — freshly exfoliated skin is more sun-sensitive.
  • Avoid heat, saunas and heavy exercise for 24 hours.
  • Drink water and let the skin settle.

Suitability

Is Teenage Facial right for you?

A good fit if…

  • Teenage breakouts and congestion
  • A first experience of a professional facial
  • Skin that reacts badly to strong shop-bought products
  • Learning a simple, realistic home routine
  • Building confidence about skin

Tell us first if…

  • Acne is severe, cystic or leaving scars — please see a GP
  • Roaccutane or prescription acne medication is being used
  • There is an active skin infection
  • The client is under 16 without a parent or guardian present

Results and how often: Skin looks calmer and clearer after one treatment, but real improvement comes from consistency at home. Every four to six weeks alongside a simple routine works well, and we keep advice practical rather than expensive.

Good To Know

Teenage Facial FAQs

What age is this facial for?
Broadly twelve to seventeen. Under-16s should be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who is welcome to stay throughout.
Will it clear up acne?
It helps with congestion and calms the skin, but persistent or severe acne needs medical treatment. We will tell you honestly if we think a GP visit is the right next step.
Are the products suitable for young skin?
Yes — everything used is chosen to be gentle. We deliberately avoid the strong actives that often make teenage skin worse.
Is there any downtime?
Generally none. Some clients notice mild pinkness for an hour or so, which settles quickly.
How often should I have one?
Every four to six weeks maintains results, though many clients book individually before events. There is no obligation to commit to a course.
Will it suit sensitive skin?
Usually. Your therapist adapts products and intensity to what your skin can tolerate, and will suggest something else if it is not suitable.
How do I book?
Book online at any time, message us on WhatsApp, or call 07391 213145. If you are not sure which treatment you need, ask us first.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Full details are on our policies page.
