What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters are injectable hydrating treatments, usually based on hyaluronic acid, placed into the skin in small amounts across an area. They are not fillers: the aim is to improve hydration, texture and elasticity from within rather than to add shape or volume.

They suit skin that looks dry and lacklustre despite a good routine, because they work at a level topical products cannot reach. They are commonly used on the face, and also on the neck and the backs of the hands.

The product is injected into the treatment area using a fine needle or cannula. Most appointments take under an hour.

Aftercare & review

You will be given written aftercare, and we follow up to see how your skin has responded before planning any further sessions.

Aftercare

Small raised bumps at the injection points are normal and settle within 24–48 hours.
Leave make-up off the treated area for 12 hours.
No exercise, saunas, steam or hot baths for 24 hours.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
Drink plenty of water — the treatment works by holding moisture in the skin.
Mild swelling, redness or small bruises can occur and settle on their own.
Use SPF daily, and contact us if anything concerns you.

How skin boosters work

Skin boosters are delivered as a series of small micro-injections into the mid-layer of the skin, rather than being placed in one spot to create volume. Hyaluronic acid holds many times its own weight in water, so once it sits within the skin it draws in and retains moisture at a level no cream can reach.

Over the following weeks the skin also responds to the treatment itself, which supports collagen production and gradually improves firmness and texture. That is why the effect keeps building after the appointment rather than appearing all at once — and why a short course works better than a single session.
