The Treatment

What is PRP for Skin?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. A small sample of your blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate the plasma fraction rich in platelets, which is then reintroduced into the skin. Because the material comes from your own body, there is no filler and nothing synthetic involved.

Platelets carry growth factors involved in the body’s natural repair processes, and the aim is to support collagen production and improve overall skin quality — texture, tone and firmness — rather than to add volume. It is course-based and consultation-led.

Key Benefits

What PRP for Skin can help with

  • Uses platelets from your own blood
  • Aims to boost collagen
  • Works on tone and texture
  • Normally given as a course
  • No synthetic filler involved

Suitability is assessed individually. Your practitioner will tell you honestly if a different treatment would suit you better, and individual results vary.

Suitability

Is PRP for Skin right for you?

A good fit if…

  • You want to improve skin quality rather than add volume
  • You prefer a treatment using your own biological material
  • Texture, tone or firmness is your concern
  • You can commit to a course of sessions
  • You are in general good health

Tell us first if…

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a blood disorder, low platelet count or take anticoagulants
  • You have an active infection or are being treated for cancer
  • You have an autoimmune condition — tell us at consultation

Results and how often: Results develop gradually over weeks as the skin responds, so a course of around three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is typical. Expect some redness and possible mild bruising at injection points for a day or two. Everything begins with a free consultation, and prices are confirmed there.

Good To Know

PRP for Skin FAQs

Is PRP the same as a ’vampire facial’?
That is the popular name for it, yes. The principle is the same — your own platelet-rich plasma used to support the skin’s repair processes.
How much blood is taken?
A small sample, comparable to a routine blood test. It is drawn at the start of your appointment and processed while you wait.
Is there any downtime?
Expect redness for a day or so and occasionally small bruises where the skin was treated. Most people are comfortable returning to normal activities the next day.
Is PRP safe?
It uses your own blood, prepared in a sterile, closed system. Suitability is confirmed at consultation and it is not appropriate for everyone.
Does it hurt?
There is a small blood draw, and the treatment itself is generally well tolerated. Comfort measures are discussed where appropriate.
When will I see a difference?
PRP works by supporting your body's own repair processes, so changes build gradually over weeks rather than appearing immediately.
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. Every advanced treatment begins with a consultation so we can confirm it is appropriate for you and discuss realistic outcomes. It is free and there is no obligation.
Can you guarantee the result?
No, and we would be cautious of any clinic that does. We can tell you what this treatment typically achieves and what is realistic for you, but individual responses vary.
How do I book?
Book online at any time, message us on WhatsApp, or call 07391 213145. If you are unsure whether this is the right treatment, ask us first — we will point you to the right one.
