How It Works

How does ForigiNexx work?

ForigiNexx uses high-frequency electrocoagulation technology. A fine precision applicator delivers controlled thermal energy directly to the unwanted tissue, causing it to coagulate while allowing the practitioner to work very precisely around the surrounding skin. The treated blemish gradually dries, forms a small crust and naturally separates from the skin as the area heals. Unlike surgical removal, the treatment normally involves no cutting and no stitches.

What happens during your appointment

Consultation & skin assessment

Your practitioner examines the area, discusses your medical history and determines whether the blemish is appropriate for cosmetic treatment.

Treatment

The precision applicator is applied directly to the targeted blemish using controlled high-frequency energy. You may feel a brief warm, tingling or stinging sensation.

Healing

The area may initially appear red or slightly swollen. A small dry crust may develop — this is normal and should be allowed to come away naturally.

Aftercare

Keep the treated area clean and dry as directed.
Do not pick or scratch any crusts or scabs.
Avoid excessive heat, saunas and steam while healing.
Avoid swimming until the skin surface has healed.
Avoid active skincare directly over the area until advised.
Protect the area from direct sun, and use a high SPF once healed.
Contact us if you notice unexpected or prolonged redness, swelling, pain or signs of infection.

Downtime & who is not suitable

A small crust can develop and may remain visible while the skin heals.
Temporary redness or pigmentation change can occur, particularly in deeper skin tones.
Treatment may be postponed for active infection, impaired healing or certain medical conditions.
Suspicious lesions are not treated cosmetically — see below.
A full consultation is always required before treatment.

Important information about moles

We take skin safety seriously. We will not cosmetically remove any mole or skin lesion that appears suspicious or cannot confidently be identified as benign.

If a mole has recently changed size, shape or colour, has irregular borders, contains several colours, has recently appeared, bleeds, crusts, itches, or becomes painful or inflamed, we may ask you to have it assessed by your GP or dermatologist before any cosmetic treatment.

Cosmetic treatment should never replace appropriate medical investigation of a suspicious skin lesion.

Frequently asked questions

Can you remove several skin tags in one appointment?

Yes, multiple suitable skin tags may often be treated during the same appointment. Treatment time and price depend on their number, size and location.

Can skin tags grow back?

Once an individual skin tag has been successfully removed, it would not normally regrow from exactly the same tissue. However, some people are naturally prone to developing new skin tags elsewhere.

Will it leave a scar?

Any treatment that intentionally removes skin tissue carries some risk of scarring or pigmentation change. Following the recommended aftercare and allowing the crust to fall away naturally helps minimise this risk.

Can darker skin tones be treated?

Suitability is assessed individually. Darker skin tones can be more prone to post-inflammatory pigmentation changes, so appropriate settings, careful assessment and strict aftercare are particularly important.

Does it hurt?

Treatment is generally well tolerated. Clients commonly describe a short heat, tingling or pinching sensation while the area is being treated. Comfort measures may be discussed depending on the area.

Can I have treatment immediately after my consultation?

Where the blemish is clearly suitable, treatment may sometimes be possible on the same day. If further medical assessment is required, treatment is postponed until that has been completed.

Do I need a GP referral?

Not for ordinary, clearly identified skin tags. However, any questionable, changing or unusual lesion should be medically assessed before cosmetic removal.

How many sessions will I need?

Many small skin tags and blemishes respond to one treatment, though some lesions need an additional session. It depends on size, depth, type, location, the number of areas treated and how you heal.
