The Treatment

What is Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage?

This is a focused massage covering just the back, neck and shoulders — the areas most people actually want worked on. Because the time is not spread across the whole body, a thirty-minute appointment achieves far more here than the same time would in a full-body treatment.

Pressure is agreed with you and can range from moderate to firm depending on what you need. It is the treatment we recommend most often to desk workers, drivers and anyone who carries their stress across the top of the shoulders.

What Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage helps with

  • Desk workers
  • Lunchtime reset
  • Targeted pain relief

How It Works

What happens at your appointment

1

A quick chat

We check for any areas of tension, injuries or areas to avoid, and agree the pressure you want.

2

Your massage

You are covered throughout, with only the area being worked on exposed. Tell your therapist any time if you want more or less pressure.

3

Afterwards

Take your time getting up. Drink water and keep the rest of the day gentle where you can.

Aftercare

  • Drink plenty of water afterwards.
  • Avoid heavy exercise for the rest of the day.
  • A warm bath can help if you feel tender the next day.
  • Mild soreness after deep work is normal and settles in a day or two.
  • Tell us next time if you want the pressure adjusted.

Suitability

Is Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage right for you?

A good fit if…

  • Your tension sits in the upper back, neck and shoulders
  • You want a treatment that fits into a lunch break
  • Desk work, driving or carrying children leaves you stiff
  • You do not want a full-body massage
  • You would like targeted work rather than general relaxation

Tell us first if…

  • You have a recent neck, shoulder or back injury
  • You have been diagnosed with a disc problem
  • You are pregnant, so we can adjust positioning
  • You bruise easily or take blood-thinning medication

Results and how often: Movement in the neck and shoulders usually feels easier straight away. If the cause is your working setup, a session every two to four weeks keeps it manageable — alongside changes to your desk or screen height where possible.

Good To Know

Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage FAQs

Is thirty minutes long enough?
For this area, yes — it is a focused treatment and half an hour covers it well. Book the full hour if you would like the lower back and arms included too.
Can I have it in my lunch break?
It is one of the most popular treatments for exactly that. Choose the thirty-minute option and let us know if you would prefer minimal oil.
What if one shoulder is much tighter than the other?
Tell your therapist at the start. It is very common, and they will spend proportionally more time on the tighter side.
What should I wear?
Whatever is comfortable. You will be given privacy to undress to your comfort level and are covered throughout.
How much pressure is used?
Whatever you are comfortable with. Tell your therapist at any point and they will adjust — firmer is not always better.
Can I book 30 minutes instead of an hour?
Yes. Thirty minutes suits a specific area, while a full hour allows a proper full-body treatment.
How do I book?
Book online at any time, message us on WhatsApp, or call 07391 213145. If you are not sure which treatment you need, ask us first.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Full details are on our policies page.
